Number of Speakers and ASUS Strix Soar soundcard

I use 5.1 speaker system. connected to ASUS Strix Soar soundcard.

I sometimes change (using sound card driver panel) speaker setup between 5.1 and headphones, and when I set it to 5.1 it is almost always detected as 8-speakers in PowerDVD.

The Soar driver panel says 5.1

In Playback Devices (right click on volume icon - playback devices), it also is configured as 5.1 (as you can see in the windows where you can click each speaker to test it).

Only in PowerDVD the configuration is detected as 7.1 (8 speakers). Why?
