What's the trick with uninstalling all of the patches and installing the original version? I've uninstalled all the programs, restarted my computer and then reinstalled from the original download file, but it still installs it with the latest update? I'm assuming there are some temp. files hanging around somewhere.
Hello, Digitally Mastered!
I may be well out of my depth here, but nonetheless, here's how I see it. You've installed PD14 from a
downloaded file, as opposed to a store-bought retail package. You've subsequently downloaded and installed patches as they came along, hoping to improve PD14's performance but at some point these patches have caused problems. Am I right so far? Okay, I'll press on. The original downloaded installation will have created a folder on your computer, and, I suspect, each successive patch will have gone to that same folder which will be labelled "Cyberlink" and inside that will be a sub-folder labelled PD14(or perhaps simply 14.0) where it's all stored, original downloaded installation "bits & bobs" plus all thus-far-downloaded patches. That might be the reason why your reinstallation puts all the patches in as well. It may be a matter of sorting out and deleting the patches, leaving only the original download material and use that to reinstall PD14.
Well, that's my guess, for what it's worth. I've said at the outset that I may be out of my depth because I much prefer to install software(PD14 or anything else) from store-bought retail packages, boxes containing installation disc(s) and "user manuals" either in booklet form or contained on the disc itself("Help" files).
Cheers!
Neil.
