Settings would be based on your output file. What are you trying to accomplish? Movie, gaming, disk, Photo's?

970 will kill PD14 with good CPU and minimum 16GB RAM.

What are your specs? I really dont like downloading unknown file, sorry. Can you post here your specs?

From your prior thread, have you updated Visual C++ both 32 and 64bit to latest. 2013, but I think win10 is now 2015. Not sure

I have uninstalled everything to do with C++ and then reinstalled and updated everything to do with C++.

My system specs are as follows:

I'd use nVidia's latest drivers. PD14 (and 10) say to use latest drivers forf Kepler and Maxwell GPUs. The 970 is Maxwell.



With just an i5, you should also try using SVRT for Produce. i73930k, 16gb 2133, R9 Nano

Hi, I have the MSI NVIDIA GTX 980Ti using PD14 with the latest drivers.

To get more out of the GPU, in 'Edit' -> 'Preferences' -> 'Hardware Accelaration' I only have 'hardware decoding' checked. Tests on my PC have shown that this increases the GPU work rate from approx. 30% up to nearly 80% when rendering 1920x1080 50i m2ts clips to 1920x1080 25p MP4 in 'Produce'. The rendering time was also down to 5 minutes instead of 15 minutes (on a 30 minute project) when, originally, both boxes were ticked in 'hardware acceleration'.

If you want to monitor your GPU work rate, a good utility is
'TechPowerUP GPU-Z'. Once opened you can select 'sensors' and keep an eye on 'Video Engine Load'.

No problem! Some editors prefer to use just their CPU for rendering, which I understand as the GPU rendering on PD over the years hasn't been as reliable/stable. That said, I'm of the opinion that if you have a solid GPU, which you do, then you should, if you can, use it.

I would also say that the use of SVRT is essential if your output format matches your input, in my case 1920x1080 50p Blu-ray Discs using 1920x1080 50p footage.

I only render my footage to MP4 for streaming using Plex on my WD EX2100.

After settings that are stable for the graphics card as I am currently having my pc crash a lot with this card. The card is also failing benchmark testing. By failing I mean my pc crashes.
So just after settings (not overclocking) for this card to make it stable. Then I can look at settings within PD14.

My apologies because I certainly was not clear on this.

Hi,

PC crashes caused by a GPU can be due to insufficient power from the PSU. Does your PSU have sufficient power for your GPU? My GPU needs 700W. I have an 850W PSU and power the GPU via two separate rails from the PSU as per Alienware guidelines.
