Hi,

Let's say I have in Library the following folder structure

Folder 1 (10 photos)

Folder 1.1 (20 photos)

Folder 1.3 (30 photos)

When I select "Folder 1", all the photos, including the one in subfolders are showed, in total of 60 photos. This feature of seeing photos from all folder structure is handy many times. But in this very moment I just need to see the 10 photos that are in "Folder 1", but when I select this folder, again, the 60 photos are showed and I can't identify which are the 10 photos.

In that case, how to see only the photos from the top/parent folder (not showing photos from subfolders)?

Thanks,

Cadux

Hello Cadux,

Absolutely the simplest thing to do would be to have those "loose" photos in their own sub-folder before your import them. Then you wouldn't need to find a way round it laughing

There is a way in PhotoDirector to accomplish what you want - using Smart Collections.

In the example below, the parent folder is called Shots. It contains 2 sub-folders - A1 & A2 A new Smart Collection was made to follow ALL of these rules:

  1. Folder name contains Shots

  2. Folder name doesn't contain A1

  3. Folder name doesn't contain A2

The Smart Collection only displays the loose photos from the parent folder.
