Hi,

Happy Easter!

For Mac you can buy such good plugin like http://www.crumplepop.com/fcpx-split-screen/

But is there something similar for Windows too? I googled, but didnt find

Perhaps someone can help me here?

Thanks. PowerDirector 17. Windows 10

Hi Andres,

Just a quick thought: I believe you can split screen into rectangular sections in PowerDirector easily using the PiP Designer. I suppose it is possible to achieve other shapes by also applying masks, which you can design on your own as png image files; see the Masks folder (typically: C:/Program Files/CyberLink/PowerDirectorxx/Masks)…

Hi Jirka,
yes, I know about using masks, have used them too.
But this plugin gives much more possibilities as you see in this one min. tutorial.
Sometimes is better to use some plugin and save time and personal work PowerDirector 17. Windows 10

New Blue has several options you might look at, but the demo you showed is pretty slick. I am doing some testing. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.

I started to interested in, because saw this video and I liked PIP effect starting from 1,18: https://vimeo.com/91731517

I know how to do the same in PD using masks, but all of this will take a lot of time. With plugin maybe 15 min. only!

I use NB Split Screen, not sure if you have it or not. It was originally part of PD12 and NB Essentials Effects 3 so it depends how you got to PD14.

It's fairly versatile, about 20 seconds for third screens.

I was looking at that online, but I don't seem to have it in my arsenal of NBFX. Maybe I'll re-install V12 to try and get it back. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

My notes show it was first packaged in PD12 and only in PD12, PD13 and PD14 didn't provide it as a offering. I guess one could purchase through partner plug-ins, http://www.cyberlink.com/products/partner-plug-ins/partner-newblue_en_US.html pretty pricey though.

It is fairly versatile once you get the hang of it, another sample attached. For the simple 1/3's as OP desired, PD14 also offers standard PIP Designer masks to achieve that.

Luckily I have kept my old PD12 Ultra, but this Split Screen I dont have there. Maybe it came with some extra package..

And yes, those CL Partner's plugins prices are mysterious

Seems, only solution is my hard work and to use masks

Andres.R,
I mentioned it by PM to Jeff to keep the thread clean, but now that you mentioned it, I do not have it either. It was one of those things where some folks got it and others did not, much like the ProDad debacle after it. Of course with all my poking around and thoughtless installs I now have a double set of NB in one package, another reverted to a trial with the Xs, and it's all a mess. I'm going for a beer... That was part of the NewBlue Essential Effects 3 packaged with PD12 Ultimate. It is interesting that the same newblue packages from my PD14 are also available in PD12. Here is a video on what you get: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EFempfGhHE .

It may be cheaper to buy PD12 ultimate from say Amazon or E Bay to get that.

Andres.R – Click on that tab on the left of your screenshot and you will see what packages you have.

Hi Andres -

An editor of your perspicacity would be able to whip that Miami video effect up in pretty quick time.

I just did a dummy go & it took longer to make the "triptych" overlay than to build the effect in PDR.

Recently, CL had a promotion for the NB Effects packs. They were about $30 each. Probably finished now, so my comment may be useless.

Cheers - Tony

Hi Tony,
maybe you are even right.
And did you mean this discount? http://legacy.newbluefx.com/partners/cyberlink/offer

Andres -

Your screenshot shows you have NB Essentials 1. Back in PDR12, I think Ultra got NB 1 & Ultimate got NB 1, 2 & 3. Seems that way from this table - http://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-faq-content.do?id=16446&prodId=4&prodVerId=1052&CategoryId=-1&keyword=

... which tomasc has already said! DOH!

Cheers - Tony

By the way, after making that 1/3 overlay I realised I already had one embarassed Attached if it's of any use to you.

It wasn't quite that exact deal, but similar. It was available through the link Jeff posted - and there was a coupon code to enter to have the discount applied.

The discount was about the same, but it was for ALL ProDad & NewBlue packages, including the NB Essentials.
