No audio

I have recently required an issue with pd14. I am getting no audio at all. the audio files are importing ok as is the video clips with audio, but when I play the files, there is no audio only video see attached pic. As you can see the mic is not selectable.
I have latest audio drivers installed and all up to date with everything else

no audio

I can't solve your problem, but two observations.

The microphone is for recording voice-overs and shouldn't have anything to do with playing audio.

You don't say where you are playing the files: from the media bin or from the timeline, or both. Regards,

There are a few places to check for audio.

In every case be sure it is not muted.


  1. On the timeline, be sure the check mark for audio on the left is checked (It is in your image).

  2. On the preview player, be sure the volume is up, and you have selected Real Time Preview. (It there is a cross out on the speaker icon, Real time preview is not checked)

  3. Check your computer's sound for Powerdirector Program, be sure it is active. (May be the Speaker Icon on task bar)

  4. Be sure the video file you are playing has sound (some don't) Your Kitesurfing.wmv does have sound.
