Does the double inage show up if the video is paused? If so, please post a screen shot of a frame where the outline showing.

Please also post the dxdiag.exe information on your coputyer (the text file, not the line by line text). There is no personal informaiton other than what you've named your computer.

What else do you have running when you are doing the video editing?

BTW, running from an external hard drive might cause some issues. It is better to make a folder on your system or other internal hard drive and add all your images/videos from there). That probebaly isn;t the cause of the outline.

What camcorder are you using and how are you getting your videos to your computer. .

When I load the DVD in laptop it did not play. Don't know what pgm to use to play it. When I play it on tv with Sony vcr and pause there is no double image. I was going to take a picture with my phone to send you if double image.

Nothing I started is running when I'm video editing.

I use external HDs because 1 game event of .mts files can be 11-14 GB total in size.

Camera is Canon VIXIA HF R300 with ScanDisk Ultra 30MB/s 64 GB SD card.

It will probably work but it will be SLOW and may cause other issues.



I guess that you got me confused - When you play the finished DVD on a TV, there is NO problem. Where did yu get or did you make the DVD? Is it a video DVD or just a date DVD that will play on your TV/Player?

Does that mean you see the problem only in the editing mode in PowerDirector? Once you copied the files to your program, did you wait until the shadow files were built? As you found out, previews are no indicative of what the results will be.

Use the free VLC program to play the disc. It will play just about anythtng.

BTY, What you posted was only the first page of the dxdiag text file. On that first page is the option to save the file. Select a convienent place to save it and then you can upload the entire text file to this site. DO NOT paste each of the line by line information. Don't bother to do it now until you answer the other questions regarding the editing. .

I too am too confused as to when and where obox2 see the outline around moving objects when playing the dvd. Maybe something will come up like a better explanation somewhere.

Sorry I'm so late responding. I was looking for email telling me there was a reply. I received one to start this.

I printed off your link to minimum requirements and will compare to see what doesn't meet. I have 2 other old laptops that I will see how they match up. I purchased this one to just do dvd authoring. Is there a requirement(s) that you see right off the bat that I don't meet?

I will try VLC to play.

Sorry for not being clear. I created the dvd with PD14 with my .mts video files. When I play that dvd kids when running have a shadow. When paused kid is perfect...no outline shadow.

I did save the dxdiag text file. don't know how to upload to this site.

Today after voting and running some errands I'm going to get my ducks in a row by creating a 1 input mts file DVD using Premiere Elements 13 and PowerDirector 14. Both will be without menu. Will see if running kid has shadow/outline when played on my DVD player on the TV. This should eliminate the TV and player if one process has no outline and the other does. Will let you know the results.

Hopefully we will be able to resolve since grand kids are about to start their soccer and baseball seasons. I film and create DVDs for them. Good coaching tool, I think, for them to see themselves perform.

I have dxdiag files saved for 2 laptops. Will need instructions on how to upload them here if you want to see them.

1) Make sure your DVD player(s) firmware is up to date.

2) Did you play the DVD on your computer using the free VLC player. Do you see the ghostig? Make sure that other programs are no running.

3) As for the dxdiag text files, use the reply - not the fast reply- and add them as "Attachments" You should see two blu buttons below your reply window click that, select the files. After your reply is submitted, the attachments will be available. .

1) Look at your owners manual for the DVD player.

2) If playing the disc with VLC gives you no ghosting, then the problem is the player or your TV.

This is NOT a problem with the CVyberlink program.

Ran DVD play tests again with DVD created with Power Director 14.

VLC - now see lines thru kids arms, legs,,,etc when they are running. Noticed before but thought because was playing on 17 " laptop screen vs 55" HD TV screen.

Played same DVD on 55" Samsung HD TV with 3 different players, Sony (HDMI2 TV input), Magnavox (Component TV input), and LG Blu Ray player (HDMI3 TV input).

Played same DVD on another Magnavox player (Component TV input). TV was Vizio 39" HD.

I now see same lines thru kids and ghosting on all TVs/players and laptop. A previous kid running created DVD plays perfect and clear. It was created with Premier Elements 13. Started having creation failures with Premier. Adobe support & forum could not solve. At one point I turned control of my laptop over to an Adobe tech in India. After that didn't resolve I decided to try another product, Power Director. I purchased a new laptop and still Premier failed. Then purchased Power Director 14.

I guess at the moment I'm not ready to fault 2 TVs and 4 players over Power Director. I certainly hope can resolve because of the $150 I have invested in Power Director.

I just created a 1 mts file DVD with Premiere and the same file to DVD with Power Director. Both with NO menu and both on same laptop. Both outputs had some lines thru kids as they ran. Played on an older much better laptop (Dell) I paid 2k for. Premier DVD was perfect and Power Director still had lines but not as bad. The laptop I've been using doesn't have the bells and whistles as the Dell.

I played both DVDs on the above described DVD players and TVs. Premiere DVD was perfect and ghosting with the Power Director DVD.

Maybe a setting or something in Power Director. What do you think?

Time to watch some basketball and election results or something to lighten my mood.

I had hope that a different user answered that question for you. Run this test. First on vlc. Play that disc. Then set:

1. Video/Deinterlace Off to On.


2. Video/Deinterlace mode to Bob

Let us know if the so called ghosting is gone now. This would point to something that need to be changed.

Tried VLC and still there. It's an outline about 1/16 of an inch outside arms and legs when kid is running. Ghosting I guess.

Tried DVD created by Premiere Elements and found lines 'in' arms and legs when motion. No outline out side of arms and legs like PD14. Turned settings to On and Bob and lines disappeared. Perfect video.

Thank you for running the test on vlc. Glad that you got the perfect video from the dvd created by Premiere Elements. I need a clarification here. The ghosting seen in the dvd created by PD14 is still there when the Video Deinterlace is on and set to Bob. Correct ?

If that is correct then the field order is reversed and must be changed.

Yes still there with 'on' and 'Bob'.
I'm unable to locate where to change the field order in PD14.

My process:
1 - in EDIT - imported mts file and placed on timeline
2 - in PRODUCE - under Standard 2D tab
clicked 'Intelligent SVRT' button and
clicked apply to apply the profile which came up
profile = AVC 1920x1080/60i 24(Mbps) H264
1920x1080 29.97 22,500K 100.00%
redirected Output folder to my external HD containing
input mts files
then I clicked 'Start' button. When rendering
complete went to Create Disc
3 - in Create Disc - went to Menu Preferences and
selected No Menu and clicked 'Apply to All Pages'
Then clicked Burn in 2D. With only 'Burn to Disc'
and 'Enable hardware video encoder' selected I
clicked Start Burning

and the DVD was created. Am I correct in this procedure? This is my 1st experience with PD.

My goal is to produce grand kids game in DVD (some may be dual sided) and Blu-Ray disc. Most of my input video mts files total 8-15 GB in size per game. Should PD14 be able to handle it?

In your first suggestion, Make sure your DVD player's firmware is up to date, hangs a big problem. DVD players in general, don't have a USB port to allow a flash-drive to be connected to update any internal "firmware", at least not the ones I've seen. Generally they have their RCA connections for left & right stereo audio(generally red & white) and the yellow composite video output, but some may have component(red, green and blue) video, but no sign of a USB port anywhere. Blu-Ray players may likely have a USB port, but not for loading firmware updates, rather they'll be for playing video files off the flash-drive. For the rest of the solution to obx02's "shadows"(ghosting) problem might be solved in a similar way to another thread, burn the video to disc via an "outboard"(external) DVD or Blu-Ray rewrite drive. That's my suggestion, for whatever it's worth.

I have a external Blu-Ray rewrite drive which might work but my sons don't have a Blu-Ray player. Not ready to create Blu-Ray coasters just yet. Creating plenty DVD coasters now. Desire to create on regular DVD drive. This to me still doesn't answer why Premiere output DVD plays just fine.
