Have a long 60 min PDS, 40 mins of which is done. I saved the master as new name lets say "MasterShortened40min", then cut off 30 mins at end that is still in process-not finalized, copied in a finished 10min tail section from another PDS, produced and all was fine. and 40 mins long.
Then noticed a glitch in transition at about 15 mins, fixed it and experimented with some other transitions in"MasterShortened40min". Then decided I should really do that in "Master", so went back to master and did it there. THEN noticed that the transition changes pushed or pulled just that track of the 2-3 video tracks and 2 audio tracks so some of the titles no longer lined up with audio/video tracks. Hmmm
Then went back to "MasterShortened40min" and saw the same issue where the tracks after transition changes were out of sync. Before things get more messed up, is there as way to revert, to step back in prior "Saves" of the PDS so I can find it in the state where things were still synced?
I have hundreds of pieces in the timeline, much easier to revert that to fix everything. If this does not exist it would be great feature, worth doing an upgrade just to have.
I do save to new file name each week or so, but current newest "name" is about a week old. I save it about 5 times a day.
wihen you just do Save you are overwriting your Project file. There is no going back, except to the last name change.
Good pratice is, each time you make any changes, you Save Project as and increment a number on the filename to make unique filenames.
filename001.pds, filename002.pds, and so on.
Look in the Auto Save location you may find a Project file that is eariler.
This is the location for PD 12. Other versions just change the number.
Auto Save location for Powerdirector 12
It is a Hidden location. Change your Folder Options to show Hidden folders and files
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\12.0\AutoSave
