Since you can only use 1 effect on the timeline, would I be correct in assuming, that in order to use multiple effects, you have to apply it, produce it, reload the clip/movie, and then add an additional effect? Rinse, repeat, for even more effects? Power Director 14 Ultimate - Windows 10 Pro 64bit - Core i5 4670 @3.4 GHz - Nvidia GTX 780 - Asus Sabertooth Z87 - 16GB Corsair Ram @2400MHz

No sir, you are, fortunately, incorrect.
FX can also be dragged directly onto a clip, up to 6 FX I think, plus 1 in the dedicated timeline. All can be key-framed. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/
Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.

Not true, you can have (7) effects applied on one clip in the timeline. Just keep dragging effects to the clip, above the timeline is a "Effect" button that you can adjust Fx items and toggle.

If you drag an effect directly to the timeline, is it editable? Are multiple effects editable? Power Director 14 Ultimate - Windows 10 Pro 64bit - Core i5 4670 @3.4 GHz - Nvidia GTX 780 - Asus Sabertooth Z87 - 16GB Corsair Ram @2400MHz

You have to drag it ONTO a clip in a timeline, so it only affects THAT clip, whereas the FX timeline affects all clips in it's duration.
All are editable/key-framable, with the exception of those FX that do not allow for key-frames at all.

Well, this is a place for learning, and teaching, and sometimes, fun, with the occasional squabble.
