Forgive me if this has already been addressed, I haven't been able to find anything on my issue. I have had PD10 for about 4 years now and within the past year or two (I haven't been using it as much lately) I have lost functionality of the "Fast video rendering technology:Hardware video encoder" option. It is completely grayed out for me. When the product was new this worked great and I was able to process my videos in no time at all. However, now I am no longer able to do this and I can't figure out why. I haven't made any hardware changes to my system. I only recently changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10. My system uses the following:

i5 650 3.2 GHz

Geforce GTX 460 (most recent updates)

8GB RAM

Not sure what else might be relevant. If someone could help me resolve this problem that would be awesome. When I process videos now it processes at the same speed as the regular playback.

Hi, Elguapo9916!

Just hazarding a guess here, but it could be that your problem might stem from your switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I'm far from being an expert here, but reading other threads where problems(of various types) have arisen from such a switch, I figured you may have come across a glitch in your system. If you can uninstall, then re-install, that might help. I'll leave it to better minds than mine to advise further.

By the way, did you, by chance, come across your user name after being inspired by the movie "Three Amigos"?

Cheers!

Neil.

It could be the switch to Windows 10. It depends on whether the issue arose before or after the switch. I'm sure there used to be a sticky about the nVidia driver and Windows 10 but can't seem to find it. This is all I can find with a search.

If the issue arose before the switch it could be that the driver got updated automatically in the background. In that case if you hadn't switched to Windows 10 you might have been able to use System Restore to roll back to a time when it worked.

To be honest anyone who's used Windows for a number of years knows it's a given that every new version throws up a host of new problems that have to be worked through. I can never understand people's enthusiasm for jumping into the bear pit.

No, it was not the switch to Windows 10. I had said previously the problem has existed for the past year or two and that I had only recently made the switch to Windows 10. I can't pinpoint the time when it stopped working for me unfortunately. I used to use the software a lot but my usage slowed down a bit. Now I just use it to compile family videos. I just remember one time I had tried to get back on and that option wasn't available. So last night I had tried reinstalling but now when I try to run the install file I get a runtime error.

Yes, I saw your post about that in the other thread. I'm sorry but I can't help with that. Hopefully one of the more expert members will pick up this thread and suggest something.

Just a thought, though - have you tried right-clicking the installer and selecting to run it as Administrator? Regards,
Mike
