Hey everyone. I have used PowerDirector for quite some time and I keep running into the same problem. Currently I am using PD 14. So heres the problem: My video and sound do not match.

It is a couple of seconds off and I am not sure why this is happening. I am currently editing a video and everything was going fine and then all of a sudden the sounds from the videos shifted to the left and I put them back in place but now the sound is very off. It is a couple of seconds behind. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? Also my video is sped up to 1.300 and the sound was supposed to be too but after it shifted i cant tell if its sped up or not. I was thinking to speed up the sound so it can match with the video but then the pitch would be too high and i just want it to sound normal. Also I have lots of vidoes in this project and it will take a really long time to go and edit all the sounds individually. If this has happend to you please let me know. Id appreciate any kind of support. Thanks Adelina

Hello, Addie9207!

At a guess, it could be a corrupted installation of PD14! Do you have any other third-party video editing software on your computer(other than Windows Movie Maker) that you can open your video files in, to compare them against what's happening in PD14? Try editing your clips in one of them and see what happens as a comparison. If there's no speeding up, and if audio and video remain synchronised in the other programmes, then perhaps you could try an uninstall/reinstall of PD14. That's about the only thing I can come up with at the moment.

Cheers!

Neil.

Hi Addie9207 ,
1. Please provide a screenshot of the Edit Workspace so we can see what your project (data) looks like.
2. Please provide diagnostic data.
3. The MediaInfo on the media files (video) you're editing.
Info requested, see guides Part A, B, E, F and J. Link: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45453.page

Video/Audio out of sync, a guess. I would look at the capability of your computer to display/process the media files in Real Time. I suggest you look to preview video in Non Real-time. The change can be made in Preferences or by calling up the Preview player setting quality. See image guides.

Altering the speed of a separated video from the audio would cause out of sync behaviour.

I doubt there is a need to re-install for any corruption.

Just an opinion.

Dafydd
