Still on the trial and trying to get a feel for this program. It correctly identifies the track as DTS, but is only showing me two channels. Is DTS import not fully supported or am I doing something wrong?

Hello WickedMage66,

Welcome to the ADR forum laughing

I have certainly seen some inconsistencies with how multi-channel (7.1) audio is dispalyed in ADR, but I've never seen a DTS clip shown as stereo! The first thing I'd check is the file properties, using MediaInfo or similar tool.

To be frank, there are so many variants of audio formats that I don't pretend to properly understand the differences. Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTSMA, DTSHRA surprised What I have observed is that particular types don't display consistently in ADR.

What is consistent is that ADR displays the correct channel configuration, though that isn't what you've found in this case.

Could you please post the MediaInfo report (or similar) for the problem clip?

That clears that up!

Channel Layout is L C R LFE Ls Rs, so it's 5.1. An MKV file with AC3 audio, according to MediaInfo. That confuses me. AC3???

Most of the similar audio sample files I use for testing are reported by MediaInfo as having DTS audio format (Digital Theater Systems). See attached .txt file - much easier to read!

When you play the video on a 5.1 system, does it play correctly? or as stereo? Would it be practical to upload the file to Google Drive or similar?

The second track is AC3, but the primary audio track should be DTS. The file does play back properly on a 5.1 system, but unfortunately, the file is too large to upload.

Added a text version for clarification.

Ah yes. 36GB would be a bit of a load on the system!

I've just tested a similar file - an MKV with dual audio 5.1 AAC & stereo MP3 - and ADR does what you've described. It displays it as stereo.

I'm attempting to extract the 5.1 AAC track using MKVToolnix, but haven't succeeded so far embarassed I'm fairly certain that track would display correctly in ADR

I'll refer this to the team at CyberLink, as it's not an issue I'm familiar with.
