Jerky DVD Production

Since purchasing PD14 I have not been able to produce a smooth DVD. Any movement is jerky and almost ghosty and not smooth at all. If I watch the produced version on my laptop before burning to DVD it's fine but as soon as I attempt to burn to disk the results are very poor. I'm currently in communication with Cyberlink but so far nothing is resolving the problem. I've been using PowerDirector since version 8 and have never had this problem before. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or is there anyone that could help me? I'm in the U.K. and would be eternally grateful for advice.

There are too many things that can cause this so called jerky movement. One thing that come to mind is to lower the burn speed to the dvd. In Burn in 2D/Final Burn/Configure check to see what it is set on and lower it to the slowest speed that you can stand for now.

You can check the Preferences/General settings to pal, etc. Disable all hardware accelleration and burn with hardware encoding unchecked. You can check the settings in your older PD version and make PD14 the same. I'm sure others will chime in to help.

Hi tomasc

Thanks very much for responding. I'm not good with all the preference checks and stuff but I will give what you said a go. I've never had any problem with previous versions of Power Director and just used the default settings. When I say jerky it's like if someone was walking across the screen from left to right their image would appear as if there were several images of the same person. I'm not sure how else to describe it. It's almost as if you can see every frame going one at a time.

I'll try your suggestion.

Thanks again for taking the time and trouble to help me out.

Cheers
Chris

Hi tomasc

It worked!! You're a genius. I can't thank you enough. I just unticked the hardware encoding and it's working perfectly.

Thank you so much; I'm so grateful.
