Text boxes in PD14

I just upgraded and I am having some issues already.

I am instering plenty of text boxes on title screens for a project, and they appear as a bulleted list, so algnmnet is a big deal.

I usually copy/paste the last box to make the next one. In PD 13 the paste was exactly on top of the old one, which was great beacuae I would use arrows to lower it, in PD14 it is dropped elswhere - can I go back to the old way?

And even more frustrating, if I use "Ctrl Z" for undo, it makes ALL of my words in the cells disappear as empty boxes, and the only 'fix' I can do is to cancel the changes and start over
.

Okay, one last thing, in PD13 if I drag a text box near another one I could see it snap into alignment with it and then I could carefully drag it lower and not worry about it.

I want all of these features back, please.

Here's an idea of what I am trying to do

(later I create a PiP segment so the video shrinks to the right side of the screen in case you are wondering about legibility)

And here's what I mean about the undo glitch:

The last thing I did was paste "voting" and undo makes everything vanish

Hi Bill -

The attached screen capture may help out.

Just use Ctrl + click to select multiple text boxes, then use the alignment options. One thing PDR doesn't do is evenly distribute/space text (like MS Word).

Also - it's worth saving your bulleted list as a template to re-use/modify in other projects.

Cheers - Tony

I'm having the same issue. But it will be just one box. I'm doing ending credits and the scroll is jumpy at the start. When I changed the movement all the text disappeared. This is very frustrating and we shouldn't have to Keep a copy is case this happens it shouldn't be happening.

Bill & mamafapp -

Sorry Bill - I glossed over your issue of disappearing text. It's happened here on a few random occasions, but I could never see any pattern to it.

One thing I know causes ALL the text to vanish is using the UNDO button or Ctrl + Z. This is something I regularly do in Title Designer... make a change then change my mind.

Keyboard commands for copy & paste - Ctrl + C & Ctrl + V - seem to work fine here without causing the error.

It certainly needs fixing!

Cheers - Tony

Hi, Tony!

Just watched your clip on Title Designer Malfunctions(or "Falmunctions" ha-ha). Cyberlink seems to have a funny(read: strange) idea about "what is an innovation". Cyberlink's "innovations" are turning out to be design faults, as witnessed by the subject of your clip.

The situation with transitions is another case in point that I've dealt with in another thread. Makes me wonder what those "boffins" at Cyberlink must be thinking to come up with these design faults passed off as innovations.

One thing I did notice on your clip.... no audio! Seems you've been "bitten" by YouTube on the use of SmartSound music recently as well, ay?

Cheers!

Neil.
