latest upgrade issue

I had a trial copy of PowerDirector that came with my video camera. I have since bought and installed PD7 Delux howver when I try to apply the latest patch it tells me I have the trial installed and therefore the patch won't work.
Any ideas what I have to remove to convince Xp that the trial has been replaced with the real thing?

You may have to run a registry cleaner.

Do a Google search for "Wise Registry Cleaner", download, install, and run it.

This is a free program and on my system does an excellent job of quickly cleaning up my registry.

Uninstalling a program may remove it from your system but will often leave some info in Windows Registry and that may be where your system tells you the trial version is still installed.

Did you buy the full version of PD7 as a download or disc, or did you "upgrade" your existing trial version. If you have the full version downloaded, you should uninstall PD7 and make sure that all refernces in the registry are removed using regedit (as Bif says - sometimes registry items are left in place during uninstallation). Then you can re-install from scratch, and it should solve your problem. If you bought the "upgrade" you are better asking the technical helpdesk to give you a link to download the full version because of the "trial" issue.
