I am feeding the output of my mixer into ADR as line in. I click the mic icon on track 1 and it records a stereo track. That works but what I really want is 2 tracks, one with L and one with R. These tracks could be mono or stereo. I can manually edit the stereo track to get what I want but it seems there ought to be an easier way. I tried clicking the mic icon on both tracks 1 and 2 and setting them to L and R respectively. Doesn't work. I tried moving the balance in the mixer drop down for tracks 1 & 2 L & R respectively. Doesn't work. When I click record it move the balance back to center for both tracks. Why? I tried selectively clicking the record button for both tracks in the mixer drop down. Doesn't work. Does the mixer drop down do anything when recording? I tried playing back the tracks and moving balance in the drop down mixer L & R respectively for both tracks. Doesn't work. What am I missing. I looked through the entire manual.
