Yes, pissed at spending $108.50 for this software, especially after not being able to get all the up to date issues resolved.

Just purchased a new gaming cpu so ram, and internal guts are not an issue.

Was feeling good about the program until I try to retrieve pds I've saved and program informs me that they are broken and it does not recognize them.

Hours of sitting here slicing audio to match video only to realized, I can't bring up what I worked on and saved. How/Why is that possible?

And, then you want me to pay for support?! Like a lot of companies, you hide behind email and recorded message interceptors. Hey, that's not real support. I sat on the phone following the instructions, inputted the code provided and am told..."You entered an incorrect code! Not once but several times. That's bull!!! Come on - that's not support.

I'll give you the one thing - nice website. For me ..PowerDirector Sucks! Support - Sucks! Yes, I'm pissed cause I'm losing money!

Return my money - I'll take this off my computer and we can part company forever!!

Hi Donald -

Firstly, I'll state the obvious. When you say "you", in reference to CyberLink, it's important to know that forum members are just users of CyberLink software... like you were about to become laughing

You can get a refund within 30 days of purchase, if that's what you've decided to do.

What actually happens when you attempt to open a project you've saved? Anything?

Cheers - Tony

Yes, I think the most useful product support for PD comes from other users on this forum, not from the software manufacturer (whose headquarters is in China). I certainly don't go to Microsoft or Adobe for product support, I go their user forums.

That said, I think you'll find folks on here very knowledgeable and willing to help (ynotfish/Tony) being a prime example. Regards,
Dan

My first attempt at answering got swallowed up in the "System" so here's a second attempt.

Hi, Donald8!

So you're hacked off at Cyberlink for not offering proper customer support....well, JOIN THE PARTY! This Director Zone website was created by people like yourself who decided to take a "hands-on" approach to Cyberlink's own "lack of care" towards their product's end-users, and provide their own assistance to end-users like yourself. Cyberlink, as we have seen, would rather spend their time and money in developing "new" product, and, like the "boffins" that they are, they'll fill this new product with as many "bells and whistles" as they can possibly cram into it, and let the end-user figure out for him or herself how to use it. That's where this website comes into the picture. The people who created "Director Zone" are indeed the end-users, just like you and I, who, having worked out how to use this software to best advantage, want to pass on that knowledge, via forums like this, to us, who are new to video editing, or have been at it for some time but are still "feeling our way" through this maze of technology.

So now it's up to you, chase your refund or hang on in there and let the folks at Director Zone help with your issues. Yes, Power Director 14 does have some shortcomings, I'm not the first to say that, and I certainly won't be the last, but at least through this website, and particularly this forum, I can find the help I need.

Cheers!

Neil.

Hi Donald8 ,
1. Please provide the support ticket ID, I'll pass the info on and CyberLink Head Office will investigate.

2. Ok, you have a pds failure, let members try and help you here. The likely cause is you've overwritten a previous pds and didn't allow sufficient time for the process to be carried out or more likely, the file itself "bulked" at the mass of changes and shortcut the process and fell over. I have recommended for years that editors should use "save project as" and to a unique name each time - numerical naming being the best.

3. There is an "AutoSave" back up you could try and find. For PDR13 for example which may rectify your issue.
Go to: C:\Users\Your PC name here\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\13.0\AutoSave
The local address is via hidden folders.
You should find a collection of auto numbered pds file, the latest being your project.
I hope this helps.

Hi, You have jumped into another editor's thread. Please start your own new topic. Please add more details, such as the support ticket ID. I can ask CyberLink to investigate.
