Dear Members

Do you have any idea what might be the problem with the below project?

Can't press "Apply" for the profile offered by Intelligent SVRT.

Please check the screenshot attached!

Many thanks!

welcome to the forum.

no problems, because your source video is recorded at VBR. must be in CBR to use SVRT.

in order to use SVRT...

' The frame rate, frame size, and file format are the same as those of the destination production profile.

The bitrate is similar to that of the destination production profile.

The TV format is the same as that of the destination production profile... etc. '

From your pic and the "Edited by PowerDirector", any chance you are using the trial version? If so, the trial probably has these restrictions.

Intelligent SVRT available on MPEG-2 video source format only
Intelligent SVRT is only applied to video after watermark displayed

Hello All

Thanks for the ideas.

After checking your responses I'm still confused about the SVRT capability of PD 14.

1) About limitations of the Trial:

This is what CL declares about the trial version of PD14: (read: no limitation of SVRT for H264)

"PowerDirector 1430-day trial versionNo SmartSound LibraryLimited template packNewBlue effect pack limited to 10 effectsDoes not include CyberLink WaveEditorImporting and producing H.264 video files is only supported on Windows 10/8.1/8/7 systems or hardware platforms offering independent H.264 encoding and decodingWatermark appears at the beginning of produced videos (5 seconds)2K/4K resolution H.264 video files are not supportedImporting and producing H.265 video files is not available"

2) VBR vs CBR.

How do I know whether my clips are of VBR?

This is what I see at the Properties tab of the clip.

Many thanks for your replies in advance

Hi,

I don't know why you ask about VBR vs CBR.

Constant bit rate (CBR) - Variable bit rate (VBR)

If you use MediaInfo it will show a lot info about your video clip.

I'm not sure if PDR14 can handle Variable Frame Rate (VFR) earlier versions could not. If your videoclip was VFR you had to convert it to Constant Frame Rate e.g. by using Handbrake.

Sorry can't give you answer about SVRT (Smart Video Rendering Technology) but I'm sure Jeff or PepsiMan wil be able.

The attachments shows the diference of shown file information using properties within PDR14 and MediaInfo.

ZoltanCanonHF200, trial limitations always somewhat of a mystery as they are not thoroughly documented. Maybe try this to see if SVRT and H.264 are functional in the trial.

1) With the basic Kite Surfing.wmv sample clip in the timeline, produce to an H.264 profile of interest (if you can, hardware/OS permitting)
2) With only the produced H.264 clip of item 1 in the timeline does Intelligent SVRT find and apply a profile and does SVRT selection in "Fast video rendering technology:" function correctly?

Hello Jeff

I tried what You kindly suggested, but the Apply button is still disabled for both

  • AVCHD H264

  • MPEG2

To me it seems that SVRT is completely disabled in the trial.

Flunking that basic test pretty much identifies all you are seeing is the limitation of the Trial version.
