Hi everyone I dropped a .mp3 clip into my audio timeline in Power Director 14. I trimmed it appropriately, but when I click the "back" button to return to Power Director it warns me that it will send the file back to power director because it is unchanged. I looked at produce but the option is ghosted out. How do I take the .mp3 back into power director with the fade applied at the end? I realize I could just open the original file, make the change then save. But that seems odd since the idea is to move back and forth between programs seamlessly.

Thank You,

MelRay Thank you for your help!,

Hello MelRay,

When you open ADR from PDR, produce & some other functions aren't available. If you run ADR as a standalone, all features work laughing

Once you've edited your .mp3 and you're ready to return to PDR, click "Back" and you should get the alert in the attached screenshot - ADR_Trim Fade. Click "Yes" and the edited clip will be returned to PDR, trimmed, fade and adjusted as you intended. The other screenshot - Back to PDR - shows the original & edited clips.

Did you get the alert? Did you click "Yes"?

No that doesn't happen. As I stated after I had right clicked on the audio clip in PDR it opens ADR. I then did the fade keeping the duration of the .mp3 original. When I click BACK it doesn't prompt me to save rather warns that changes will be lost. I finally just removed the clip from PDR and then opened and edited the .mp3 with ADR as stand alone program. Saved the file then re-imported into PDR. I gather from your response there must be trimming involved to get the prompts you have shown? Thank you for your help!,

OK. When you said "trimmed it appropriately" I took that to mean you'd trimmed it "laughing"

It's not relevant anyway. In ADR you can set fades using keyframes or under Adjust Audio > Fades. If you use Adjust Audio > Fades, you must click Apply for your adjustments to take effect. If you set the fades, but forget to click Apply you'll get the message you got.

I've attached screenshots of each method of adustment with the alert after clicking "Back".
