Adding Still Photos to videos

I am producing my second project in Power director. This time I am adding about 20 stills to thirty short video clips to make a movie.

I notice that when I leave story board view, I do NOT see the photos.

I hate to take 5 hours to produce the movie, and then find out it didn't work.

Is there anything I am supposed to be doing with the photogrpahs before I render the project? Thanks in advance for advice.

I think that you are saying that you see the photos in the story board view but not in the timeline view. Beleive that photos must be in video track one to show up in the story board view. My pc is tied up so can't check that just now. That is strange.

Hi Angela -

tomasc is right. Storyboard view shows only Track 1. Still - if you've inserted photos in Storyboard view, they should appear in track 1 of the Timeline view.

Here are 2 views of the same project - the photos highlighted in yellow appear in Track 1 of the timeline view

Did you insert the photos working in Storyboard or Timeline view? If the latter, did you insert them in any other track?

Cheers - Tony

Hi, Angela123!

I'm in agreement with Tony(Ynotfish) and Tomasc on this one, it's the reason why I always work in the Timeline mode so that I can see at a glance what's on each track. If you're overlaying your stills as PiP images, it's ALWAYS best to use the Timeline view, that way you have control over where, when, and for how long the PiP images appear.

Cheers!

Thank for responses. I placed the stills in the story board track between clips. Is this ok? Will they be incorporated when I finalize the video?

When you have saved your "print screen" file click on the "post reply" button just below the final post. When the screen opens click on "attachments" and browse for your file.

When you have entered the file click on submit and you should see your file in your post.

I hope this helps

As well as Robert's advice on attaching your screenshot, here are two ways to embed the image in the forum page (if that's what you'd like to do)...

Attaching only is sometimes preferable so no resizing has to be done & members get a full resolution view.

Have you photos shown up in Track 1 yet? They should have.

Cheers - Tony

This is very frustrating. Are you all saying that we can not edit in storyboard view? It is so much easier to insert stills in that view, and also to move around clips in different order. I am finalizing my film now, it remains to be seen if the stills will show up...

Hi Angela -

Of course you can build your project in storyboard view. That what it's for! When you produce your video ALL the clips and photos you've inserted will be in your final video exactly where you put them.

The question you originally asked was about why the photos didn't display when you switched to timeline view.

If you could attach screenshots of your project in storyboard & timeline views, that would help to clarify.

Cheers - Tony

It is perfectly fine to do everything in the storyboard view. What the other users may be saying is that they do things like titling, pip, add sound or music, etc. and do more complex type multi-track editing which is more easily done in the timeline view and may not be available in the storyboaed view. Most users I think use the timeline view. Transitions, for example works in either view. Do whatever you may be the most comfortable with at the momemt.
