Is there a way to remove all sounds under a certain db limit while leaving everything else alone?

I do youtube Let's play and Documentary videos with large commentary recordings and I am always forced to go through and manually remove all the little noises that my recordings pick up.

First off I have always used Audacity to record and record with the volume at 50% so i do not pick up much extra noise

after that I analyze and do noise reduction multiple times but never the less I am always forced to manually go through the recording looking for any little bumps on my line that are not me speaking and silence those bits.

I just bought Audio Director and I am trying to see if there is anything it can do better for this than Audacity but so far I do not see anything of the sort.

Is there any feature Audio Director has that can automatically go through a sound file and remove any small sounds that are not spoken words or otherwise a major part of the track?

I'm just thinking that If I can go through a wave form and do it manually myself without even needing to hear the audio then it SHOULD be easy enough for a computer program to do the same thing and just erase anything under a certain db ammount while leaving everything else compeltely untouched.

Can Audio Director do this and if not I seriously hope that Cyberlink will look into such a feature for a future update because I gurantee a LOT of youtube commentary video makers would be highly interested in this.. Psi

Hello PsiSoldier,

If you look under the Restore tab, you'll find the tools you're after

These tools can filter out particular sounds - clicks, hum etc - to clean up your recording.

Unfortunately it appears that that does not leave the other audio portions untouched. After doing that and the noise removal I went back to compare the produced audio vs the original from Audacity and the parts with spoken words were distorted or muffled. Meaning that it is altering everything and not just the clicks.. For that matter though it did not get rid of the clicks either.. It did get rid of some of them but not nearly all or even half of them...

Looks like I'm stuck using a Noise Gate with low settings and then manually removing all the rest of the noise like I have been doing Psi
