I'm missing all icons and pictures from my help file! (?)

I'm missing all the icons and pictures from my help file when I click on the question mark in the upper right corner of PowerDirector 14. I'm tried reinstalling, and running the program as administrator but no go. Am I doing something wrong?

I just bought Director Suite 4 and installed it in Windows 10.

Anybody?

TIA.

Hi, TexasTrouble!

I've seen this before on another unrelated website, little boxed 'X's where the image or icon should be. If that sample yo provided is coming via the "net" and not present on your own computer, might be a server problem.

Cheers, Y'all!(ha-ha - no malice intended there!)

Look at C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector14\Language\Enu\Help

Look to see if you have the jpg files in that folder. I have 493 jpg files in that folder.

The Help system is htm and jpg files. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Thanks for the help!

The images were where they should be, and I verified that I am actually looking at the html in that same directory. It's something in Microsoft Edge browser that will not work with any of the help files in any Cyberlink product. Crazy.

I tried going to Win 10 Group policy and enabling javascript for Microsoft Edge, but it didn't work. I've done several other tweaks too but no go.

My fix was to set Google Chrome as my default browser, which opens the files perfectly.

Now that I know Microsoft Edge was the problem, I can get back to playing with PowerDirector 14 and all the other goodies in Director Suite 4. Lots to learn!

You should also have Internet Explorer 11 in win 10 that you could use if you are familiar with it in the past.

Interesting. I'm able to view the help file here normally with Edge:

However, I'm running insider build 10565 and they've made many, many changes to Edge since 10240 was released in July - including a new "feature" that often clears this text window along with the clipboard AND the Undo buffer when clicking on Preview or Submit!yell

(I had to post this from IE...)

Hey, thanks, I DO have IE11, and it works. So, problem is inside Edge.

My Win 10 Pro is build 10240 and should be getting the latest updates, but it appears I may not be getting those. I'll check on that thanks!

By the way, Microsoft Edge is version 20.10240.16384.0.

Thanks again.

You do have the latest updates for Edge.

To get insider builds (basically beta versions) you need to sign up to be a "Windows Insider" and then you'll be able to update to the latest (but not always the greatest) build
