DAFYDD pls note----PD14 not generating shadow files from 4K HEVC 265 inputs???

I tried editing a 265 HEVC MKV video file and noticed that no SF are generated.

While it says "shadow file generating" None are produced. Task Manager shows PDHanumanSvr.exe inactive

Playing from the time line produces stuttering pb.

After 30 min a 1 minute long 265 file created no low resolution SF.

No problem doing this with 4K 264 files.

Yep, easy to look at shadow file location and see that nothing is being encoded. Good catch, looks like yet another bug.

I wish they had a good bug report forum, things just get lost amidst the rest here and really no follow-up if things are corrected. Yes I know, report to CL support, that's just not practical. My past experience is I simply gets multiple boiler plate responses and then maybe a sent to Dev comments and then nothing. Additionaly I never know if it's already been reported to not waste my time reporting again.

If users take the time to document and it's validated by others, some forum for post and follow-up would be very beneficial.

Jeff that would be a good idea. Hopefully Dafydd will take note and pass it on.

The other problem is the speed at which the SFs are generated.

Not that you need confirmation, but NO shadow files being generated here from 4K HEVC from Samsung NX1.

Paul - it's probably in a higher priority category than "suggestion"

At the moment the lack of SF for 265 HEVC does not impact me. However that will change since they now take no more time and look just as good as 264 videos, using the GTX9XX codecs. Also we are getting closer to UHD BR.

I have used the file substitution method a few times when in a hurry. Usually I just wait or let PD generate SF over night.

I did look at the PD13 post, nothing has changed. Unfortunately.
