Videos Play Properly from Media Library, But Squish when put into Timeline

When I am taking video from my phone and attempting to put it into my timeline, they automatically squish by adding black bars to the top and bottom although they play perfectly while in the media library. Sometimes, when inputting them into my timeline they start by appearing normal, but once I add any edit, like adding in a title, they will squish once again. What is happening here? I have tried changing aspect ratio of my project, but this still occurs.

hi,
This is because PD is working with aspect ratio 16: 9 and / or 4: 3, and your image is portrait (maybe 9:16) If you take pictures with your phone horizontally rather than vertically, it will certainly fit when you put it into the timeline .

With portrait pictures he can put more images next to each other, like in the attachment.

Or you can choose to show part of the picture (in relation to the aspect ratio you selected in Preferences) eg with Magic Motion.

Cheers, Anja
