Hi friends! I`m using Power Director trial to cut an video. After I selected and split my video, I`m trying to produce it, but produce don`t work properly and only render a part of video. Its a trial limitation?

Thanks!

When you use the Produce function, PD should produce everything on all tracks in the timeline. If you only have clips in a single track, they should all end up in your finished video.

Maybe you mean something different than "split" That normally means cutting a single clip into 2 sections and you then might shorten one section to skip some content you don't want, but you might be describing something different.

A screen shot of your timeline and a detailed description of what's in and what's missing from your produced file would probably help us give you a clear answer.

Hi optodata. Thanks for answer!

I will try explain better. When I say split, I`m doing:

1-Put a video in timeline

2-Drag cursor until 10 sec and click in Split button.

3-Right click on first part(first 10 sec) and remove

4-remove gap

5-produce in MP4 format

Everything look working fine until produce part. When I go to produce, estimate file size is about 14mb, but produce render in 2 seconds and final file has a 2 mb size. Is something like produce didn`t rendered all movie, only the beggining.

I tryied same movie without SPLIT, only adding an effect and produce works well and rendered all estimate file size and final movie is ok too.

Thanks again!!!

OK. You're doing a normal split, so something's not right on the Produce tab. Please answer these questions and we'll probably understand what's happening.

What format is the original clip?
After you remove the first 10 seconds, how long is the remaining section?
What format are you producing to?

I tried 2 different input format. First I used original camera format (1920x1080, .MTS) and second I converted to 1280x768,.MP4. In both cases I used 1280x768,.MP4 as output format.

The video has 53 sec, and after split, left 43 sec.

Thanks again!

Hi optodata & Flyn

The trial version has a watermark for the first 5 seconds of a project.

Is it possible that cutting out the first 10 seconds is removing the watermark so Cyberlink says NO!

Just a guess

OK. When you produce the entire file and everything works correctly, what is the output file size? 16MB for 43s sounds WAY too low (and 2MB means there's no video at all) so I'd like to know what your estimated and actual sizes are for the full 53s clip.

What happens if you try to produce your split clip with a standard format, like 1080p or 720p? To get 768 I'm guessing that you had to create a custom profile and your settings are probably incorrect. Please take a screenshot of the Video tab in the Quality Profile Setup and attach that, too.

MP4 does not work in the trial version. Cyberlink would has to pay for that codec.

So you only get to produce with it after you buy PD.

Sorry, full video has 33mb in MP4 at 1280 x 768. This is a result of produce that I made to reduce file size and working fine.

before split, file has 33mb and after cut 10 sec should be 26.6mb, but final produced file has only 1.89mb. Its like produce didin`t finished rendering all movie.

Before cut (estimated by PD)

Before

After cut (estimated by PD), generated file has only 1,89mb

After

Thanks!!!

OK. Please try producing to any resolution of H.264 AVC instead of H.265. As The Shadowman pointed out, producing to H.265 is NOT available in the trial version!

I honestly don't have any idea of what's going on, so the only thing I can suggest is to uninstall the trial version, including Quicktime and Smart Sound (if you are prompted to remove them), and then reinstall it.

The FAQ I've given might not apply.

It would be useful to see the MediaInfo of the video you're attempting to edit. A sample file would be great to have (5 seconds long) and information on where the source material was obtained from would help members. I have seen some mp4's that when split/edited the partial clip results in a black file = GOP issue of the source material.

The trial version does have restrictions preventing full use.

Flyn, because of the trial restriction to h264, it may be worth
Trying to produce as an.AVI, just to see if it works.
