Problems with Power Director 11 After Windows 10 Upgrade

PD 11 worked very good when I used Windows 7. After upgrading to Windows 10, every time I open PD 11 I get this: Cyberlink CLQTKernelClient 32 has stopped working. My PC used 64-bit successfully when I was on Windows 7. I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I can bypass that error code but it's kind of funky then and doesn't work as it did prior. [E.g., it took several attempts to burn a DVD. Video would not run in timeline window, etc.)] Is there a way to fix this? If I get a newer version of Power Director will it then be 100% compatible with Windows 10? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You appear to have the PD11 deluxe or oem version of PD11 which is 32 bits. You can try to update PD11, uninstal QuickTime and then install the latest version. Let us know if this fixes the problem.

Tomasc:

Thank you! [My version of Power Director 11 is "Ultra"]. I appreciate the very quick reply. I followed the first two steps in your reply: (1) I updated PD 11 [via the "Download" button on Cyberlink's website] and (2) I uninstalled Quicktime. [So far I have not installed the latest version of Power Director as you recommended]. I shut off my PC after uninstalling Quicktime and turned it back on and PD 11 worked as it did prior to me upgrading to Windows 10 -- that is to say "perfectly." So far, so good although I haven't done any work -- just opening Power Director, closing it, re-opening it, pulling in a project, etc., to test whether that error code would pop up. [If a problem arises in the future, I'll upgrade to the latest version of Power Director. Again, thank you very much for your quick reply.

Glad that you got PD11 running. I did not mean to install the latest version of PowerDirector for step 3. Sorry about that. I meant install the latest version of Quicktime from the apple website fow windows 10. The link here autodetect and links the version for win 7 for my pc: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ . You need the one for win 10.

PD11 will start and run okay for avi and wmv files without quicktime. You need the latest quicktime installed in order to work with mp4 and h.264 videos. Quicktime for the pc is 32 bits, hence the error message screenshot that you posted. Hope this clarifies everything.

Let us know if this fixes everything...

Sorry I misunderstood what you meant. This morning I went to the Apple site via the link you provided. Although I didn't see an option to specifically download a Windows 10 version of Quicktime, I did click on the only option: Download Quicktime 7 [Quicktime 7.7.8 for Windows Vista or Windows 7]. It seems to have done the trick. I tested Power Director 11 afterwards and there was no error code. I tried saving an MP4 video and it did so. So, again, thanks for your help. It's restored my liking of Power Director.

I am NOT quite sure whether or not I am in the correct forum to ask this question, if NOT please advise which one I need to be in.

Question: I have recently TRIED and failed to successfully create/burn a mp4 video file in power director 11 onto a 50gig bluray disc which says the file burned successful but when I put it in my bluray player it will NOT play.

I have rendered it both as a h.264 and a Mpeg 2, and STILL cannot view it on my tv with my bluray palyer.

IF someone does agree to assist me with my problem, with respect for your timeand agreeing to assist me in resolving this issue I would like to Thank You.

Regards Bill
