PowerDVD 11 not working after disabling unused audio device

I used to use the motherbaord SPDIF out for audio. I upgraded a long time to a HDMI out.

HDMI works well. Recently, I tried to cleanup the HTPC and disbaled the no longer used SPDIF audio device in Win7. As a result PowerDVD does no longer work.

However, nowhere in PowerDVD settings can I see anything about the SPDIF device. It seems PowerDVD is soemhow still rembermering it and looking for it.

How can I make PowerDVD forget this unused audio device?
