Cyberlink PowerDVD Error
[Post New]
CyberLink PowerDVD would not launch.

Possible Reasons:

  1. Your VGA driver needs to be updated.

  2. There is not enought VRAM on your VGA card

I purchased PowerDVD 15 Ultra (Download version) via the online store on May 27th 2015, I have been unable to get past this error. I have been engaged with technical support, but Tarun and I are unable to resolve it as yet. Tarun recommended rolling back the display driver and using the native resolution - but so far nothing has worked. I am on Windows 7 64bit and I have attached the various dxdiag reports with the different graphic drivers/resolutions.

Has anybody else on the forums encountered a similar problem?

It SEEMS similar to this issue (http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/22364.page) but that was from a while back.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks for your help.

Ronald, If you are going to try to trash Tech support, at least spell the words correctly. Start a new topic rather than hijack someone else's topic.

I recently had a problem and they were able to fix it but it did take a few back and forth messages. .

Teflon Fong,

Do you have dual video cards? What is drive "L".?

Perhaps there was a glitch in the download. Temporarily turn off your anti-virus and redownload the program to see if it installs properly with the anti-virus off. Did Tech support suggest that you completely unstall the rpogram with somethign like Revo Uninstaller (Moderate Mode ONLY) and then reinstall with your antivirus off? .

Same Problem with the VRAM error here!

I have change my GTX 660 TI to ASUS GTX 970 Strix (no dual Cards) and then PowerDVD 15 and 14 don´t start with the latest patch. I install everything new, cleared the Registry and my OS is Windows 8.1 with the latest Patches and then the Error Message poped up.

The last time I make the Updates I also try the CCleaner to clean my Registry, but the Error Message is the same. My Nvidia Card has the latest Update, so everything is the latest Version... hope anyone (or Cyberlink) can help.

Perhaps it got too clean.

Please start yoiur own topic (thread) so the replies don't get confused between you and the original poster.

Also look at the end of the dxdiag text file and you will see an error for =WPNConnectionFailure. I don't know if that is a problem but please take a look on line for that error. I wouldn;t worry too much about the Windows update failures for now.

The strang thing is, when I start "PowerDVD15ML.exe" and make my registry with serial number... the first few Intro Messages from the first start appears and then the Programm shut down without any error Message.

When I then try to start... there is no Error Message, the Programm trys to load, but then there is no PowerDVD Window... a few retrys but no difference.

Looks like the Programm wants to start and then it crashed on a specific Lokation.

I've started my own topic but in relation to the OP I'm also running a GTX970 and just bought it, and am having the exact same issues under Windows 8.1. Note I have started my own thread, but I just wanted to see if you've found a solution?
