Hello all.

I am new to PDVD15 and cannot seem to play a BR movie. The issue led me to this debug file and I was looking for some help.

It must be a setting or even the wrong monitor cable.

Thank you.

I'd guess someone's using a pass-through DVI to VGA adaptor - you need an all-digital link to monitor. Your Acer has 1 x DVI and 1 x VGA.

It does not need to be over HDMI, a DVI cable should work fine, VGA no.

Oddly enough, Jeff, someone does not seem to have a DVI sized input on the back of the tower, but I did see now that my connector to the back of the Acer was on the VGA input, because that is where it fit. I will need some sort of adapter for the DVI there, too. When all is done, I'll bet my screen works better, too, I just need the correct cable. Off to BEST BUY! Can you attach a pic of the back of your tower? If you are using the VGA connection of the ACER as that's what the cable fit that means you have a VGA cable which will not work. Not even with a VGA to DVI adaptor at the monitor. You need DVI from the tower to the monitor. Hate to have you buy something that has no chance of working?

That is odd, the GTX 660 card that you list for the box I believe you are working on has two DVI connectors.

I have no doubt I have the incorrect cable, but when I get home I will be able to assess the connections. I just used what came with my equipment. I am a better editor than a techie, that is plain to see.

Yup, new DVI cable and I'm good to go.
Honestly, this PowerDVD is a really great program. Coming from OEM10, it's startling how much entertainment PDVD15 can throw at you, via a very well-organized easy-to-browse UI.
