I can't find it documented anywhere but it appears this has been implemeted.

Attached are what I think is a new setting compared to PowerDVD 14 called "Play 3D Media in 3D".

Yes it has been implemented finally, you can ask for 2D content to be played in 2D and for 3D content to be played in 3D. It works great
