Hello, I'm new to PD and can't figure out whether the cross hair and drag handles in Clip mode in the Preview window are editing tools. Do they simply adjust the appearance of the video within the Preview window itself? Or does re-sizing/adjusting position/rotating the video using these controls affect the actual output? Can you give examples of when these controls would be used? Thanks very much!

Do you have your video on the main track and have you selected "movie" rather than scenes? .

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, the video is on the timeline. My question was about Clip mode, not Movie mode. In Movie mode the controls are not visible. I'm just trying to figure out why/when would the Clip mode controls be used in the Preview window, and whether they affect the output. (I'm running PD Ultimate 13.)

Yes you can adjust the image directly in the preview window, the effect will be applied to the entire clip.

If you want to adjust the image in specific positions along the clip, the clip can dididir or work within the editor Keyframe button, or give 2-click on the clip, open Pip designer editor.
