Click on the image in the timeline.
Click MODIFY.
Scroll down the menu to FADES
Click FADE and Click ENABLE FADE OUT.
At the same time, to the right, you'll see the key-frame window.
The diamonds are your key-frames, there will be one near, but not at, the right-end of your clip.
Sliding that diamond will shorten, or lengthen the time of the fade.
There are other methods to accomplish the same thing, including using the FADE transition.
