workspaces vs. projects

Hi,

In the powerdirector 5 menu, it is possible to create a new workspace or a new project. Please explain the difference between creating a new workspace and creating a new project. The effect of either seems the same. The help index does not explain what they are and the differences between them.

I'd like to be able to create/edit clips and then use them in more than one project. I presume that I can do that with workspaces, but not sure how.

Any help is appreciated.

Ed

Hi Ed,

I understand your confusion.

I use PDR 5.0 build 1227.

I have experienced that, when you select "New Workspace" your timeline and storyboard (Workspace) is cleared but the Library is unchanged. And when you select "New Project" both Workspace and Library is cleared.

In both situations you can give your Project a new name.

If you would like to use the actual movie clips in a new project you must select "New Workspace" - I believe.

Med venlig hilsen,

Klaus

How do you switch back to the old work space?

If you have saved the project before you cleared the work space, you can reload the project.

It is best if you SAVE AS 001.pds, 002.pds, and so on. That way you can go back to a previous edit/time.
