Help! How can I blur more than 2 objects?

Hi,

I'm in a journey to record streets. Unfortunately this means that cars will be recorded and the license plates will be recorded as well. I currently am blurring them, but I cannot blur more than 2 objects. I use the FX track to mask and blur one license plate while also applying the blur effect to the video track so I can blur another license plate. However, I cannot blur another one since when I drop the blur effect it says it is already applied.

Is there any way I could add more blur effects or is this a software limitation? Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro
Secondary Machine: Lenovo Y510p, Intel i7-4700MQ 2.4Ghz, 2x nVidia GT750M, 500GB SSHD, Windows 10 Education

Hi,

what comes to mind is to split the clips and apply to each splitted clip.
If you just split and not move clips apart in any way, it usually works for effects.
At least that is what I do.

Hi 1Nina,

In fact that is what I do, but for example, If I have 3 cars with a visible license plate in a video frame, then I can only hide 2 plates. One using the FX track and another using the video track. Tony is a guy in here with lots of workarounds.
I do quite a bit of those myself, but one just have to try things to see if it will work.
Now; not seldom I use the same clip twice - clip A in 1 track and B in the track below (below in PD).
Usually I do this to get an "overlay mode" effect, something for colours, blurring - or fading.
If the clip has audio, I just unlink and get rid of the audio in clip A.
I wonder.....applying effect on the double clip?

Haven't tried just that, but maybe you will give it a go?

As far as I know PD, only one way to blur more than two objects, do step by step, in the second rendering add 1 or 2 more blur. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

Oh well. I'm gonna add this to the PowerDirector Suggestion thread then. I would like to see multiple effect tracks added so I can accomplish this easier... Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro
