Dear Dafydd,
Many thanks for your prompt response.
Unfortunately, even after following your advice I still get the same problem. However it does get there so much quicker.......I disconnected from the net and closed down the virus scanner but it made no difference. as soon as I hit the setup.exe file or even the installation package from the 'Winrar' application, I almost immediately got the same 1610 error response. One of the postings mentioned ( with the same problem ) that the package should not be 617Mb but something like 648Mb. I noticed that a) mine is always 617Mb and b) the date on the installation file in Winrar is June 2007.

Has anyone any other suggestions as to how or why, even after deleting every reference from the computer and registry this product still keeps coming up with this corrupt installation message?

I should have mentioned - post under your previous topic... oops

That's not a CyberLink issue - that's a connection issue at your end - your server or modem is dropping the connection. If you're using a network connection - is it cable or wifi? Wifi is slow downloading and might be the cause.

I'm just guessing here.

Kevin,

I'd also like you to change your browser to Firefox Mozilla and see if that helps with the download. Reason: I spotted some hassle when I download using IE recently with IE failing to finish the download.

Just an idea.

Sorry Dafydd,
I have been using Firefox for the past 2 years for the very reason you specified....I also have an abhorrence of IE in any case!! I am also downloading with Internet Download Manager as this has the power to resume nearly all downloads in the case of them failing!

However as to the connection issue, although I can't believe there is a problem, I am willing to go 'direct' with the cable modem if you think there could be a problem. However for the most part downloads of 65-70 kbps are normal and I have no problem downloading movies or anything else. A typical 21 Mb file usually downloads in 8 minutes.

But I'll try anything..............

Hi Kevin,

Try anything.

IDM should be picking up the issue as the file size you gave indicates that PD7 isn't fully coming in with the package manager (and IDM isn't doing it's job very well!). I couldn't use one to get PDr in the last time I tried. I used good "old" FireFox to get the download in.

All 617mb of it.

When you go to install - you are the Admin aren't you?

Dafydd

I shall try a new download tomorrow, depending on the speed of Cyberlink's response using the methods you have described.

In the meantime the following may be of interest:
1) I am the administrator
2) the downloaded size using the 'WinRar' you suggested is 642Mb
