Hi again,

I have a project that exceeds the 4.7GB of a DVD, so I used Smart Fit on the Create Disc page which gives me 4.669GB. This is the 2nd video of 3 of a vacation set. I used smart fit on the first one without any problems. Now I am getting a message when I click on Burn. See attachment.

Is there a minimum distance between chapter points? Attached is a Word document, with chapter points that may be the problem, marked in RED.

Thanks

The minimum time between chapters is 2 seconds so they are okay. See this link: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/39275.page#202826 .I do know that text boxes and the navigation buttons cannot touch each other. Text boxes can overlap thumbnails and thumbnails cannot touch another thumbnails or navigation buttons.
Posting a screenshot of your root and chapters page in menu designer would help if you still have problems.

That's strange, I can have text all over the navigation buttons and things burn just fine as shown in pic.

I'm only aware that any button that has a action to it, be it thumbnails or navigation buttons can not touch in any of the associated border stipple areas of that button. Obviously makes sense, if action buttons overlay how do you get unique action for each button from a remote. Any non action items as in text boxes user created or non action chapter text can overlay on anything.

Jeff - Not strange. You are right about that. The default text boxes are about the length of the thumbnails. I do not intentionally place them where a long chapter name would overlap a navigation button for neatness only. See my screen capture. You supplied a good illustration that any text boxes can cover the navigation buttons and be okay.

Hi there again,

I redid the menus - there were some overlaps which I fixed, and the DVD burnt ok.
BUT I now have another problem. The #1 video created a DVD PAL, DVD NTSC and Blu-ray with no problems at all. But now I am trying to create another project (second video to continue on from the 1st). DVD PAL is ok, but when I try to burn Blu-ray I get a burn error (See attachment).

To try and see what might be the problem, I reloaded #1 video back into PD12 to try and burn another Blu-ray. I added a 16 second extra clip (mpg format). This made the video 75mins 04 seconds long. It also failed with the same error message. Could the mpg clip be the problem?

Anyone have any clues? I want to have the 2nd Blu-ray video completed by this coming Saturday (Aussie time). (It is now 8.18pm Thursday Aussie time).

Also on the attachment you can see the settings I have for this disc burn.

Worked out it was the mpg clip! replaced it with avi version and it worked OK!

Why would the mpg clip cause the problem?

I'll burn the NTSC version and see what happens. IanB
