Some video segments suddenly darker??

I've edited with PD 9-10-11-12 and now 13. For the first time I've done something to effect the darkness of about half my video clips. I was just sorting the order of clips of high school football footage. If I remove from timeline and bring back they are ok. Trouble is each one has been trimmed so if I remove and bring back, must trim again.

Any ideas of what I could have done??

GOT IT. Somehow I must have selected a number of clips and grabbed the 'output' bar and pulled them down, thereby darkening the entire clip. Whew, glad it was easy in the end.

At the very top of the video portion of a clip, while on timeline, there is a horizontal line. If you left click and pull down it reduces or fades the scene to the BLACK.

Somehow I must have done this when I grabbed several clips to place on a different timeline. My mouse has developed some issues with the right button, sticking, releasing early, etc

Thank you for the explanation. That horizontal line near the top of each clip is set to 100% opacity. Dragging that line down reduces the opacity. It is a clip attribute that can be adjusted. There is no documentation in the user manual on it.

Cool...who knew (and it works in PD12 also)!

Set an opacity keyframe for a clip, via MODIFY|FADE IN, for example, and the white line will appear in that clip on the timeline.

Clicking anywhere directly on the line sets a green dot (a keyframe). Thus opacity can be modified right on the timeline by dragging the keyframe dot/s up or down.

Audio volume can be adjusted on the timeline in a like manner.
