I have a series of 65 individual mpeg video clips of a WWII fighter pilot telling his stories. The video is acceptable but somewhat grainy due to lighting. I want to combine all of them using Power Director.

Here is my main concern. The speaker did not speak directly into the microphone and there is a good amount of ambient white noise. Will AudioDirector allow me to diminish the white noise and somehow increase the audio of the speaker himself? His speaking is audible but I need to do a good amount of cleanup to it to make an enjoyable and attention retaining DVD.

I am looking forward to your answers / comments / advice / and or tips.

Hello Dekade,

Yes, that's certainly possible. AudioDirector has the facility to do what you're asking, but "how well" very much depends on the quality of the audio recording.

The best thing to do is to upload a short sample (about 10 seconds) showing the poor balance between the VO and ambient sound.

Of course, it's always better to make sure you get a good quality signal when recording but sometimes we need to overcome issues such as this.

Here ya go. This is a clip that has not yet been put into Power Director. Should I first put the clip into PD and then give you a segment of it? What do you want me to do?

Members - Thanks for any help. I'm going to get personal here for a minute. The clip is one of 65 of my dad whom I lost in March of 2012. He was 3 weeks from his 90th birthday. He flew 50 missions in his P-51 fighter. I'm the only family member that has these clips. No one else knows about them. I am trying to get a really great production accomplished to give all the family inclusive with great grand children for Christmas presents.

I am totally impressed with the quality of Audio Director and Power Director. Played around with PD8 back in 2009. But PD13 and AD5 are phenomenal.
