Keyframe Editing Problem

I'm putting a small image of a face on top of a video of "Mahna Mahna".

I'm using the Keyframes-Position to move the face around.

Every 5th frame, I'm moving the face, creating a new keyframe. No problem.

When I go BACK to a previous keyframe I can't move the face... BUT... The previous keyframe of the one I'm trying to move, shows the move I tried to make on the next frame.

That's the best I can do to describe what's happening.

EDIT:
Even if I try to delete a keyframe, PD deletes the previous keyframe.

Thank you for your time,

Joe

Hi Joe -

I find it easy to get muddled when I'm doing keyframes to track motion like that.

Something to consider is that when you advance the timeline marker (by 5 frames or whatever), the object is shifting back towards the "final" keyframe.

For that reason, I always:
1. Set the first and final keyframes before doing any tracking/motion (i.e. where you want the object to start & finish)
then, beginning at the first keyframe,
2. Advance the timeline marker
3. Add a new keyframe (N.B. add keyframe before moving object)
4. Move the blue dot
then repeat 2, 3 & 4 till complete.

I have no idea whether that will help solve what you're doing. I just know it works for me.

Cheers - Tony

I didn't set the last keyframe but the rest I did do. But, there is no blue dot.

I was advancing the timeline by clicking the "Go to next frame" button.

What's weird though is when I deleted a keyframe and it deleted the one prior to it. CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

Joe -

The attached screenshot shows the blue dot - which is the position of the object at the particular keyframe.

Cheers - Tony
