Moving downloaded templates to new computer - is this possible?

I'm getting a new computer next week and I have about 30+ downloaded title templates and about 17 downloaded menu templates in PD12 from DirectorZone. (The old computer running Windows 7). When I install PD12 on the new computer (Win 8.1), I assume I have to download all those templates again. Or is there a folder with them in that I can just transfer to the new computer?

The new computer has a 1TB drive (same as the old which is partitioned to C:/, D:/, E:/, & F:/. The D:/ currently holds the recovery partition). I intend to do the same with the new. I was going to get my tech son to clone the all the drives from old to new, but I just realised this maybe not be possible due to different OS. Any way a lot of programs may not run due to the different OS, but it would be nice if I didn't have to install PD12 from scratch. Currently the program is installed on E:/ drive.

I also am in the middle of an edit which I will have to transfer to the new computer. What would be the best way to run it on the new, considering I have the titles, transitions, etc on old computer, do I lose any of those opening the project on the new.

Sorry for the long winded post, but I want to sort out any problems before they happen. I can save the project to a portable 1TB USB3.0 drive. Would this help?

Thanka in advance. IanB

You will have to re-install the PD on the new computer. Any installed program will add some entries in Windows Registry, so you cannot just copy an installed program.
The templates should be saved somewhere on your drive, I guess you can copy them and try to see if they work with the fresh PD or they have to be re-installed too.

The edit work you have done should be easy to copy - it is saved in the project file.

You have just downloaded effects, if you guadou in a folder just reinstall one by one 2 click on each effect.
The other ways is to copy the folder where it installed the effects of the old PC to the new.
When PD was installed the folder is created and must be empty at first.
Local, download Effects: :
(C: \ Users \ Public \ CyberLink \ Downloaded Effects)
Personal Effects:
(C: \ Users \ "Your PC" \ Documents \ CyberLink \ PowerDirector \ 12.0)
