How to fade in/out the middle of an audio file?

I could only fade the beginning and end of a track, I couldn't figure out how to fade anything in between?

If you're familiar with the "rubber band" method in PowerDirector, ADR works in the same way.

hmm thanks for that. Interesting concept, though it makes it difficult to see the final effect on the waveform. Is there no way to apply the effect immediately, or do you have to "produce" the file and hope for the best?

Hi Prizm

When you do as PIX described, either play the part of the sound track you have just altered, or play the whole track, and if you don't like the result just drag the slope level indicators up or down to raise or lower the volume or from side to side to lengthen or shorten the slope in and out, just as you pointed out yourself in your initial post regarding being able to slope in and out a full track.
