Hi...

What would be the best format to upload to YouTube? I try the H.265 with MP4 (.mp4) as it look smaller file size.

But when I upload to YouTube, I receive this error message "The video has failed to process. Please make sure you are uploading a supported file type."

Regards,
Joseph

I always upload a 4K H.264 video using the predefined profile in PowerDirector, since YouTube takes advantage of the 4K format. Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro
Secondary Machine: Lenovo Y510p, Intel i7-4700MQ 2.4Ghz, 2x nVidia GT750M, 500GB SSHD, Windows 10 Education

Thanks for your reply here. The file of 4K H.264 would be very huge, isn't it. Which file format do you use among .m2ts, .mp4, .mkv?

I select DEVICE, then APPLE, then change the profile type to iPad. Next I select BEST quality or 1280x720p depending on which version of PD you have. I then upload it to YouTube. It is a nice small file size with a great HD picture. I hope that helps!

It depends on the Bitrate and length. For a 1-hour video encoded at 50Mbit. it can consume between 20-30GB. For a 3 minute video encoded at the maximum bitrate supported by PowerDirector, I can get easily between 3-6GB. Upload time doesn't matter to me since I have a high upload speed Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro

Hi Maestro,

It is very interesting, I never thought of using the Device. I did test with your suggestion and uploaded to YouTube. Wow... the compression is even better than the HEVC. Thanks a lot, I think I will stick to this ever now.

Cheers!
Joseph

Upload to youtube video with very high bitrate does not make sense. When you upload your videos on youtube are reworked to guarantee a good streaming, this process reduces enormously the video bitrate.
Who has uploaded with high bitrate try this : download a your video with http://keepvid.com/ and then check the bitrate.

I upload h.264 Mp4 bitrate of 6000 for 1080P and it is already too high for youtube. Messaggio agli italiani che utilizzano PowerDirector , ColorDirector o AudioDirector : http://bit.ly/1rKjrav

I have never got a warning or feed back from YouTube. I think after YouTube does it's thing it's at 5000 bitrate. Intel i7 5960X overclock to 4 Ghz 16 GB of ram.

I upload with a high Bitrate precisely because of the YouTube encoding. Highest Bitrate will mean less quality is lost in the process. As I mentioned above, My uploads are using the 4K 4096x2160 H.264 50Mbit preset.

Hi Maestro,

When I upload to YouTube, it said "Your videos will process faster if you encode into a streamable file format. For more information, visit our Help Center." as can see in this screenshot: http://prntscr.com/52v2sj and it link to https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en

What do you recommend?

Joseph

•Progressive scan (no interlacing)
•High Profile
•2 consecutive B frames
•Closed GOP. GOP of half the frame rate.
•CABAC

•Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0

Resolutions:
•2160p: 3840x2160
•1440p: 2560x1440
•1080p: 1920x1080

Hi there I believe H.265 with MP4 is the best codec as it keeps the file smaller and gives better quality than the H264

BUT I don't think YouTube supports this file yet although I stand to be corrected if anyone knows different

Joseph, it doesn't bother me that it may take a bit longer to upload as I really like the quality. That is why I haven't looked into any other settings...
