Hi,

I'm praying someone can help me with my issue. A while back my software stopped working. I feel like I have tried everything. I don't get an error code. It will simply not play Blu Rays, etc. It just spins in the drive and opens up the file view of AACS, etc. I've gone over a bunch of the troubleshooting faqs and haven't found my particular issue so far. I'm running windows 8.1 and never used to have a problem. Also, all my video drivers and such are up to date. Has this been an issue for anyone else? I would love to watch my movies again. Also I downloaded free trial software from other companies and the discs ran. So it is not my drive. Please help.

Regards,

Xolin

Hi

I'm not the best with computers and this sort of stuff. But earlier this year,my father's computer stopped playing DVDs.You put a disk in and the Power DVD would not come up and all you would here in the computer is like a clicking and whirling sound like the disk was spinning. You could bring up the Powwer DVD manually but it still wouldn't play the disk.

We took it into the Geek Squad and it turned out his Optical drive had gone bad and had to be replaced. The computer was still under warranty so it didn't cost anything and that fixed the problem.

Like I said,I'm not good with computers but your mention of it just spinning in the driver sounds a little like what happened with my father's computer. So maybe you might want to have it looked at at least to rule out a optical drive problem.

Thank you Comic. That does sound like a possibility. I may just take it in somewhere. However I think it's mostly ruled out because free trail blu ray software from other companies would play my discs which doesn't make sense.

Something as simple as a weekly antivirus scan could have done it.
