Ynot, I am glad to know that PD is not that flakey or particular. I wouldn't expect it to be.

I will see if I can do a few other tests after I produce my projects. I am running out of time, way way behind schedule. I will check out #2, #3 in my list above and will use jpgs with same specs as well as the original variety and will report back. so long as time permits!

Can I just say that I agree 100% with what Tony says. PD will make use of images and clips of all resolutions and aspect ratios in the same project perfectly well. My point was that if things go wrong or don't turn out as we expect it's best to 'troubleshoot' from the simplest possible starting position.

Perhaps the only problem was that there was no problem smile.

Both Tony and Longedge are probably right. I do use on occasion some 4x3, some vertical orientation of photos as 9:16 and 3:4, some with differenr AR such as scanned postcards and crops but not too many of them on a 16:9 timeline and have no problem with the produced slideshow in the m2ts format. If mp4 is needed then a handbrake conversion could be the answer.

Years ago I created svcd’s using software before there was cyberlink. Found that the image size must be 704x480 ,not 640x480 and not 720x480 for the proper aspect ratio of 4:3 to be displayed. I accomplished this by Create a new image in say photoshop or gimp to be used as a frame. Crop the original image to whatever. Size to whatever to fill the frame. Flatten it. Export or save it as a new file. This means each image is of the same size for a slideshow. This same procedure may help studioksr if she has lot of different size images.

Maybe different sizes and different AR of images can cause problems but I haven't found any using the slideshow templates.

I can confirm that I have produced two beautiful slideshows without any problems. I have not had time to figure out if it was a setting change that solved the problem. I will do my best to find time to test this while I remember what I was doing.

I am now facing another problem and have researched and found other people with similar problem. When I burn the DVD for playing in DVD player, the quality is extremely poor, and the images seem to be stretched out when played on my DVD player connected to TV. I know this is another topic for another post, but I am so frustrated. I just need to be done.

The DVD problem may be the difference between selecting a 16:9 DVD vs Selecting a 4:3 dvd. IF the content is 4:3 and you chose a 16:9 dvd, everything will be stretched horizontally. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Both the original file and the new DVD file were set up as 16:9

If you have stretching, then there must be zoom applied somewhere.

Either by the TV or was applied when the DVD was created.

I have seen many TV sets with Zoom applied when you are trying to fill out the screen. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.
