Hello forum,

I recently purchased PowerDirector 12 and really do enjoy the features that it offers. However I have recently developed an issue when attempting to cut a clip in any way. After cutting, trimming, or editing a clip in the timeline, the preview window goes black and there is no video. I can hear the audio just fine and it does render okay, but as you can imagine it is a bit difficult to edit a video when you cant see it. I have attached my DxDiag, the video clip in question, and a screenshot of the problem. I will attach my recording program settings in the following post. Thanks in advance for the help.

Three items to address...

1. Install the latest PD patch, if not already in use. See the "sticky" at the top of this forum for a link.

2. Update the video driver, from the chip manufacturer's WEB site...
http://geforce.com/drivers (NVidia)
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

If problems arise, roll back to the prior driver via Control Panel|DEVICE MANAGER|VIDEO ADAPTERS|<your video adapter>|DRIVERS tab.

3. Click START button|RUN and type "regedit" (no quotes).
Drill down to...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyberlink\PowerDirector12

In the right-hand column double-click on "Key VideoRenderer."

If the default value = VMR7
Change it to VMR9

Click OK and then click the upper-right X to exit the editor

Use caution. Changes in the registry take place immediately and making the wrong ones can hose the system.

1. Already up to date.
2. Also already up to date.
3. Changed the suggested setting, rebooted and the problem still persists.

Thanks for the reply. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You are not the only person with a Bandicam issue.
I suggest 2 possible solutions.
1. Export to a different format in Bandicam.
2. Install a codec pack such as K-lite.
No guarantees, just ideas. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/
Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.

Both of those solutions are very undesirable :/. The problem for me is that I have older bandicam footage that is recorded in the same format with the exact same settings and it seems to work fine. I'm really confused as to why this, and any other footage that I record, is having this issue as nothing has changed.
