[Post New]
I just purchased and downloaded PowerDirector Version 7 Ultra upgrade for my PowerDirector Version 6. However, when I try to install it, I get the following error:

1155: File C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{CB099890-1D5F-11D5-9EA9-0050BAE317... NOT FOUND

The install stops at this point. I am running Windows/XP SP3. Where do I go from here?

Don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but... during a little problem fix with Dell support remotely accessing my computer, the tech suggested I upgrade from XP service pack 2, to SP3. But after the upgrade, my PD6 just didn't seem to run right.

I went back to SP2, and all was fine again.

It may just have been a fluke or coincidence, but I just thought I'd throw that out there, even though I'm not completely sure that the SP3 upgrade was the root of the temporary PD6 glitches, or would cause your download problem.

Good Luck Peter E. Hope you get it resolved!

Thanks to all that viewed and responded.

I tried to uninstall PowerDirector Version 6 but received that exact same error. This told me it was not some type of download corruption type error. Anyway, I came across some other poor sap like myself experiencing a similar problem. The problem was caused by some type of installation error with the original install in the Windows/XP registry. I downloaded the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/ . I selected PowerDirector in the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility which removed PowerDirector registry installation entries. Again, it only removed registry installation entries and does not do a product uninstall. I then tried to install the PowerDirector Version 7 Ultra upgrade and all worked perfectly. I even manually upgraded to the latest patch release.

Anyway, I hope this helps someone else.

Peter
