GoPro Quality changes with Produced Video

Hello,

My raw footage from the GoPro 3 Black looks great @ 1080p 48 fps but when I produce a video from that footage to 1080p 24 fps, it looks worse. A scene that includes some sky shows some "blotchiness" while looking at the sky.

I confirmed that the bitrate is very similar with both pre and post production.

Is there a setting in PowerDirector 12 to remove or reduce the "Blotchiness"?

Thanks,

Stephen

I would like to be able to produce in the same frame rate I recorded in (48fps), to keep the quality, but I do not see that option.

Hi,
How to alter a template in Profile.ini - I've written it up a number of times, see the other forum.
What you need to do is basically create a Custom Profile in Produce, I've chosen mpeg4, as close as you'd like the output file to be like the original. (I'm assuming Intelligent SVRT isn't helping you.) Get this info from MediaInfo, Part J in the Guide (top of the forum). You then need to open Profile.ini using Notepad/a text editor. Tweak the frame rate to 48.000000 as shown below.

If you want to try out the below profile details. Copy the code and paste it into the bottom section of Profile.ini. Location: C:\Users\YOURComputerName\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\12.0

I've used the Nature.wmv and I have created a 48fps with the template.

There are GoPro profiles available, posted by Jaime in the other PDR forum.

Focusing into "infinity" to capture the sky can be a problem - some cameras cant handle it.
