PowerDirector 12 vs. PowerDirector Mobile

How do you get PowerDirector 12 to read PowerDirector Mobile projects? It appears that PowerDirector 12 produces projects with a .pds extension while PowerDirector Mobile produces projects with a .pdm extension. Any assistance will be appreciated.

FredCentralUS,
welcome to the Forum.
As a guess, I would say they are not inter-compatible, though I do not really know.
I look forward to finding out, as my next phone will NOT be an Apple, and the Mobile app works only in Android and Windows devices.
Someone will chime in and tell us for certain.

EDIT: Perhaps a PD Mobile forum would be a good idea.

When you export a project on PD Mobile, it states "Exporting a project will export the project file to the desktop mode of PowerDirector for further editing."

So it appears that they should be compatible.

Thanks for your reply,

Fred

Ps, I am using a Dell Pro 8 tablet with 8.1 OS & my PC is using 8.1 also.

Barry, as I understand it, the mobile app will not work on Android phones yet. (I just looked for it again in Google Play.) I look forward to that changing, hopefully in the near future.

I have installed the Android version on my Tablet

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyberlink.powerdirector.DRA140225_01&hl=en

Quite basic in comparison to the Windows mobile version and no export project option - only produce / upload to Facebook / upload to YouTube; but is does allow for basic 'on the go' editing

Hopefully features will improve as time passes; I think it it was only launched at the beginning of June?

A mobile forum would be great - given the differences in features probably would have to be separate Windows mobile and Android mobile?

EDIT

http://www.cyberlink.com/products/app-zone/appzone_en_GB.html?&r=1#position_c

There appears to be a 'bundle' version that may be free for registered users of Powerdirector - I have already paid for the upgrade on the free version but may be worth a try for others?

(upgrade was only £2.94 approx so not a huge amount!)
