HI.

I was wondering if any genius out there has or can make the wonder woman explosion flash effect for power director.

I have been looking for this for ages. There is a home video on You tube where someone has made a video of their niece and she spins, the flash happens and it revels "wonder woman".

I really want to do this for my kid but just don't know how..

Any takers?

Post a link to that video, so we may look at it.

Maybe if we see the video of it being done, we may be able to re-create the effect.

Hi Martyn.c -

The earlier versions of Wonder Woman used that "flash" to disguise the switch between one clip and the next. Later versions were more subtle.

All you need to do is:
1. Have your daughter practise spinning on the spot (i.e. within a small footspace)
2. Select a location to shoot the video(s) & set up tripod for consistent angle/position
3. Film your daughter beginning and continuing to spin on the spot dressed in her regular clothes (Clip 1)
4, In exactly the same location, reshoot with your daughter in her WW outfit spinning in the same direction - including the completion of the spin (and maybe running off to save the world) (Clip 2)

In PD:
5. Insert Clip 1 into Track 1 & Clip 2 into track 2
6. Drag the start of Clip 2 along to the point where she's going to change to WW
7. Fade Clip 2 in (PiP Designer)
- if you can't make it look like a smooth switch, go & reshoot or add a flash effect

There are some great flash effects on DirectorZone, including sound effects. Look for CP_Flash...

Cheers - Tony

Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for your replies.

The flash I feel is more exciting as it was used in all of the TV shows. This is the link to the home video version I found.

The fascinating element of this is the flash and the fact it has different colours and is meant to come from within and return. In edit you run the two clips, the flash gives it some wow factor and allows the spin to be fast. In the original film there was no flash so the spin was in slow motion with a closed set to ensure the camera didn't move while she went and physically changed - the cost and wait for this meant the flash which I grew up with..

So if you can make one, I would be forever grateful

You can download this Sunburst from Director Zone.

I think it can work by trimming it some.

It is a Particle effect, after install it is in the downloaded of the Particle Room.

Hi, Martyn.C! The suggestion I would make borrows from Ynotfish, as far as the shooting of the sequence goes, but in the editing I'd take a different approach. Add the sequence with your daughter going into her spin as the starting point of the sequence, then add the piece where she's in costume, coming out of the spin. These should be on the master video track. Between these shots, add a transition effect, such as "glow" and set it for about 3 seconds duration. To add that extra touch of magic, add a delay effect from the effects room(the second icon down, below the clapperboard icon, "media room) set the effect to start at the point where your daughter starts her spin, and end - naturally - where she stops spinning and heads off to "save the world".
