my hobby is making lyric-videos for songs i like (like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJLLRqnDzVk).

currently limited to Windows Live Movie Maker.

would Power Director be better/more suited for this aim?

hard to learn, etc?

It depends, what do you feel would be improvements using a different video editor alternate to WMM? What more do you want?
How computer savvy are you? How many of these do you envision doing?

What computer do you have? Post the dxdiag.exe evaluation of the computer (as a text file attachment). Part B here:

mostly text.
in an ideal world, i could overlay text, so some started appearing as other text is fading or whatever.
know what i mean?

i'm pretty savvy.
i currently have about 700 videos; do about 1 / week.
